Welcome to our Snapping Turtle Pond.
Sculpted by Craig Black, it consists of a 2,800 gallon concrete pool designed for the comfort of the animals and maximum visibility by guests.

In this exhibit, we have five 60 - 125 pound alligator snapping turtles, other native turtles, garfish, numerous other native fish. We also have frogs, toads, native non-poisonous snakes and a few more surprises. Soon we plan to add alligators to this most remarkable exhibit.

Our hope is that the turtles will breed and lay eggs in the island which was constructed in the pool so we can release them into the swamp.

The pond is not actually completed to this point. The pond is heated and cooled and has a biological filtration system to help keep the habitat healthy. There is also a deck constructed around the pond so that guests (especially the young children) will be able to see and appreciate these threatened animals.
