Can we see 'gators year-round?
gator1.gif 150x85
Yes and no. In the native habitat, alligators hibernate from October through March. But reptiles are cold-blooded and sometimes can be seen in the warmth of the sun even during the months of hibernation. See them almost anytime in our exotic and visitor-friendly gator exhibit, an eco-habitat of lakes and native vegetation.

Is my child safe on the boat?
The boat is 20x40 feet, covered and enclosed by a 3.5-foot-tall fence. Kids love being able to get close to nature. Parents can feel secure that their children are safe.

Will mosquitos eat me up?
mosquito.gif 150x133We rarely see mosquitos, but we carry mosquito repellent just in case.

What if I have limited mobility?
Wheelchairs sit comfortably on the flat deck of the barge and there is handicap-friendly access.

Are snakes going to fall out of the trees into the boat?
snake.gif 150x104It's never happened. There really aren't snakes hanging from the trees. We sometimes see snakes swimming in the water, but in eight years' time, only one of them has been a venomous snake.

What type of wildlife can I expect to see?
You are most likely to see egrets, herons, ibis, hawks and eagles and you may see migrating birds such as pelicans, ducks and song birds. Other fun creatures are nutria, snakes, gators, turtles and frogs.

When do your tours run?
We run year-round, so call or e-mail us for the current season's schedule.
